Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has hosted a destination stand at the South Asian Travel Trade Exhibition (SATTE) 2018.
In a statement, MATATO said 10 Maldivian companies, including resorts, guesthouses and travel agents are taking part in the exhibition, being held at the Pragathi Maidan in Indian capital New Delhi from Wednesday to Friday.
“SATTE is the first international trade exhibition that MATATO is taking part in 2018,” the statement read.
“In 2018 MATATO plans on hosting a destination marketing event in every month at prominent international markets.”
SATTE, South Asia’s leading B2B travel and tourism trade exhibition, has worked its way to become a catalyst for the Indian travel and tourism sector, and has been seeing an overwhelming response from Indian and global players, each visiting the event with high expectancy from the event and its offerings. Last year alone, SATTE attracted over 750 participants from over 35 countries and 28 Indian states.
SATTE 2018 brings together more than 500 exhibitors from 35 countries.
As part of the destination marketing efforts by MATATO, it has in the recent years increased the number of travel trade events that it takes part in. Last year, MATATO along with tourism industry representatives showcased the Maldives at 15 international travel shows and exhibitions.
MATATO has announced plans to participate in 19 international travel trade fairs and exhibition in 2018.
In February, MATATO will be taking part in the Thai International Travel Fair 2018.
