Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has opened registration for three international travel trade fairs that are set to take place in the first quarter of the year.

MATATO along with tourism industry representatives will be taking part in the South Asian Travel and Trade Exhibition (SATTE) in Indian capital New Delhi from January 31 to February 2, Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) in Ha Noi from March 29 to April 1, and Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair (AITF) in Baku from April 5 to 7.

Registration for SATTE is open till January 15, while interested parties can submit applications for the AITF and VITM by January 30.

According to MATATO, registration costs USD 1,500 for resorts, hotels and airlines, and USD 1,000 for travel agents and guesthouses. The registration fee covers two entry badges per company and exhibition space, it said.

SATTE, South Asia’s leading B2B travel and tourism trade exhibition, has worked its way to become a catalyst for the Indian travel and tourism sector, and has been seeing an overwhelming response from Indian and global players, each visiting the event with high expectancy from the event and its offerings. Last year alone, SATTE attracted over 750 participants from over 35 countries and 28 Indian states.

AITF, the main event in Azerbaijan’s fast-growing tourism market, attracts a large number of local and international participants each year and gathers industry professionals from all over the world. Since its inception, AITF is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan and continues to retain its high profile and importance by annually welcoming the country’s president.

VITM is the leading travel fair in Vietnam and one of the key travel shows in the region.

VITM has once more been a tremendous success in 2017 when it attracted the participation of 672 tourism enterprises and organisations from 25 countries and territories displayed in 465 booths. The event also welcomed nearly 3,000 tourism professionals and over 61,000 pubic visitors. Additionally, a large array of professional activities was held, including international forums and seminars, destination presentations, and cultural performances.

As part of the destination marketing efforts by MATATO, it has in the recent years increased the number of travel trade events that it takes part in. Last year, MATATO along with tourism industry representatives showcased the Maldives at 15 international travel shows and exhibitions.

MATATO has announced plans to participate in 19 international travel trade fairs and exhibition in 2018.
