Maldives has exhibited at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in Cannes, France for the first in years.
An event organised by Reed Exhibitions, ILTM is a luxury show that focuses solely on pre-booked B2B meetings.
As ILTM celebrates its 18th anniversary this year, it promises to be the largest edition ever held, with more than 5,000 expected to visit the trade show. Over 1,880 companies from 80 countries participated in last year’s edition, conducting over 72,000 pre-booked appointments.
During the four-day fair, which began on Monday, 17 officials from 13 companies representing the Maldivian tourism industry are meeting with industry professionals from the lucrative luxury tourism market.

Meanwhile, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is utilising this platform to explore means to further develop and strengthen the presence of the Maldives in the French luxury market.
The Maldives’ stand showcases colourful displays and light-up boards to accentuate the vibrant natural beauty of the destination. Every co-exhibitor has been allocated a dedicated meeting space, co-branded within the main stand.

ILTM is the second fair in France attended by representatives of the Maldives tourism industry. Maldives participated in IFTM Top Resa earlier this year.
Based on arrival figures from January to October, France is ranked in the seventh position amongst the highest performing markets. The French market accounts for 3.5 per cent of total tourist arrivals to the Maldives in the first 10 months of the year.
