Maldives Marketing and Public Relation Corporation (MMPRC) has brought in a team of journalists from Turkey, as part of the official tourism promotion body’s series of familiarisation trips to promote Maldives.
The team comprises of journalists and editors from a number of popular Turkish publications such as Sabah, Daily Sabah, Yoldasin and Atlas magazine.
“They are a combination of media on conventional and digital platforms with some having a special focus on tourism. Atlas Magazine also plans on doing a report of 12-16 pages about the Maldives,” a statement issued by MMPRC read.
During their week-long visit to the Maldives, the Turkish journalists will stay at Kuramathi Maldives, Kurumba Maldives and Mirihi Island Resort, where they will explore the destination’s natural beauty, adventure and honeymoon experiences, as well as eco-tourism initiatives.
These experiences will be shared in their respective publications.
A total of 8,059 tourists visited the Maldives from Turkey in the first 10 months of the year.
MMPRC regularly hosts a destination stand at EMITT, one of the leading platforms for Turkish and global travel trade.
Last month, MMPRC brought in a team of influencers from Turkey.
MMPRC kicked off the series of familiarisation trips in April, starting with a team of Indian journalists and bloggers. The official tourism promotion entity has so far brought in teams from the UK, China and South Korea, Australia, France and Belgium, as well as countries from Eastern Europe.
This is the 21st familiarisation trip conducted by MMPRC this year.
