Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has hosted a pre-meeting for the Maldivian delegation, as part of the state tourism promotion agency’s preparations for the 2019 World Travel Market (WTM) London.
This year, 161 delegates from 63 companies from across the Maldives tourism sector, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, travel agencies, associations and airline operators, will represent Maldives at the fair, which will be held from November 4-6.
The pre-meeting, held at Salt Café & restaurant on Monday, focused on sharing updates with the participants about promotional activities the Maldives will conduct during WTM London.

This year is the 35th consecutive year that the Maldives participates in WTM London.
WTM London, now in its 39th year, is one of the leading global events for the travel industry. The event brings together almost 5000 exhibiting destinations, technology and private sector companies to find and network with 51,000 travel professionals, key industry buyers, journalists and digital influencers.
WTM offers the opportunity to discover the world under one roof and discover trends, issues and innovations in the travel industry.
UK is one of the major source markets to the Maldives. Arrival figures from January to September 2019 rank the UK in fifth position amongst the best performing source markets, accounting for 7.3 per cent of total market share.
