Maldives has once again defended the title of Indian Ocean’s Best Spa Destination at the World Spa Awards.
During the World Spa Awards 2019, held at Armani Hotel Dubai, situated at Burj Kahlifa in Dubai on October 21, Maldives ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Dr Hussain Niyaz received the award.
Maldives beat competing island destinations, including Mauritius, Madagascar and Seychelles to once again win the prestigious award.
Maldives, famed for their luxury spa and wellness services, has maintained the title of Indian Ocean’s Best Spa Destination at the World Spa Awards consecutively since the award’s inception in 2015.
“Winning this prestigious award indicates the visitors’ love and confidence towards the Maldives as a perfect wellness retreat and will indeed enhance the image of the country as a luxury spa destination,” a statement issued by Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the official tourism promotion body, read.
World Spa Awards, the sister event of World Travel Awards, was launched in 2015 to foster a new era of growth in spa tourism.
