Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has brought in a team of journalists from the United Kingdom, as part of its series of familiarisation trips to promote the Maldives.
The team, which arrived in Maldives on Tuesday, will visit both local islands and resorts until October 7. They will be staying in Coco Bodu Hithi, Furaveri Maldives and Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.
The team is comprised of writers from well-known publications such as Luxury Lifestyle Magazine, Stoke Park, House of Coco, The Travel Magazine and Harbor Chelsea Club.
During this trip, the team will experience sustainable tourism initiatives in the Maldives along with Maldivian culture, food and the vibrant underwater beauty of the country.
Their experiences will be featured as articles and photographs in their respective publications in the UK.
“This is the 14th group to arrive in the Maldives as part of a series of familiarisation trips organised by MMPRC,” a statement issued by MMPRC read.
“Through our series of FAM trips, MMPRC hopes to reach wider audiences in these markets to promote the Maldives.”
The UK is amongst the top 10 source markets for the Maldives’ tourism industry. With a 7.5 per cent marketshare, its ranked as the fifth biggest source market.
