Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has kicked off a roadshow in India, as part of its “Journey to the Sunny Side” series of promotional roadshows.
The roadshow is being held at five prominent cities in India, including Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi and Chandigarh from June 24 to 28. This is the third event of this series conducted as part of the marketing activities conducted by MMPRC.
“The five-city roadshow targets the Indian audience to maximise the Maldives brand exposure. This event will serve as a platform for Maldives tourism industry partners to showcase products and network with the top travel trade industry partners of India,” a statement issued by MMPRC read.
Twenty-five companies have participated in the roadshow in India, to create potential opportunities and to further strengthen the relationship with Indian tour operators. The Maldives delegation is led by Deputy Managing Director of MMPRC Aishath Neesha Mohamed Shahid.
In addition to the networking sessions, a raffle draw winner will be chosen from each city to spend holidays in the Maldives, with sponsorship from Shangri-la’s Villingili Resort & Spa Maldives.
Indian market has seen tremendous growth in terms of arrivals to the Maldives in the past three years, with a nine per cent growth in 2018 compared to the previous year. The Indian market holds third place in terms of arrivals to the Maldives with a marketshare of 8.8 per cent till May 2019.
