Hurawalhi Maldives has been voted the ‘Most Romantic Resort Hotel – Indian Ocean’ at the Love Travel Awards 2019.

The award was presented at a gala ceremony held at the spectacular Garden Palace Liechtenstein in Austrian capital Vienna on February 18.

“This is another big accomplishment and a testament to our resort’s team going the extra mile to assure your holiday is sprinkled with romance and filled with amorous indulgences that you share with those closest to your heart,” an announcement by the resort read.

The annual Love Travel Awards are the ultimate badge of honour for romantic hotels and resorts around the world. They accord special recognition to properties which, in the opinion of experienced romance travel professionals, stand above and beyond all others.

To create the shortlists of nominees for these awards, the most important influencers across the romance travel industry are consulted before the trade votes for their favourites. To win a Love Travel Award is therefore to be recognised by the entire industry as a truly exceptional property.

This latest award follows another recent global recognition to Hurawalhi as a leading hotel for romance.

In this year’s edition of the Travelers’ Choice Awards by TripAdvisor, Hurawalhi was listed as the No. 10 hotel for Romance in Asia and the No. 4 hotel for Romance in Maldives.

Officially inaugurated in January 2016, the five-star Hurawalhi resort is accessible by a 40-minute scenic seaplane flight from the main airport, and offers 90 villas, including 60 Ocean Villas and 30 Beach Villas, for grown-ups who are seeking luxury and innovation. The villas are stylishly and beautifully conceived featuring soothing décor, sumptuous linens on king size beds, bleached wooden floors, and private terraces with panoramic views.

There is an ocean of delights to take in at Hurawalhi: dining at 5.8 Undersea Restaurant, snuggling up with your darling under a blanket or sparkling stars on the iconic Dream Island sandbank, falling in love with the plethora of marine life on the island’s doorstep – in fact, one visit to the resort is hardly enough to experience it all.
