Kuredu Resort Maldives has joined the annual Clean up the World event.

On September 15, guests and team members at Kuredu joined the global event aimed at encouraging communities to get more involved in helping to look after and protect their local environments. More than 50 guests and team members collected 50 kilograms of rubbish, consisting mainly of plastic bottles, fishing lines and smaller bits and pieces.

“We’d like to thank everyone who took part and gave a helping hand; we are proud and happy that so many of you decided to give back to the environment. Each one of you made a difference,” an announcement by the resort read.

This was Kuredu’s 24th Clean up the World event.

Located on a 1,800 metre by 325 metre remote island in the northern atoll of Lhaviyani, Kuredu is accessible by a 35-minute scenic seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport. This 4.5-star resort has 383 rooms, including beach and water villas, making it the second largest resort in the Maldives.

The island boasts a dive and snorkel centre, a water sports centre, a spa, golf and tennis courses, a kids’ club, and an extensive choice of restaurants and bars. Kuredu guests can also dine in 5.8 Undersea Restaurant at the neighbouring Hurawalhi Maldives resort.
