Crystal Sands Maafushi has shifted its entire power source to renewable energy.
Solar panels have been installed on the guesthouse premises, allowing its operations to be fully powered by solar energy.
“This is an initiative from Crystal Sands to reduce carbon footprint under the mission, ‘one thing for the planet’. The company will continue changing daily operational aspects to comply with this mission to sustain clean environment for a better future,” a statement read.
Managed by Symphony Maldives, a company recognised as one of the Gold 100 companies in the Maldives, Crystal Sands is located in the island of Maafushi in Kaafu atoll, which is accessible via a 30-minute speedboat ride or a one and a half hour ferry boat ride from Male.
Within the densely grown trees of Maafushi island is the 18-room cozy guesthouse, featuring modern eclectic design that radiates positive energy. Each air-conditioned room has a flat-screen satellite TV with CCTV channels, and private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. Select rooms come with a balcony offering sea views.
Guests can enjoy Maldivian and western cuisines at the in-house restaurant, which is owned and managed by leading local restaurant Symphony. Hearty breakfast options include Chinese varieties as well.
Crystal Sands has received several accolades, including awards for being the Most Innovative Guest House Concept and Most Supportive Guest House at the recently concluded Maldives Travel Awards Guesthouse Edition 2018.
