Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has opened registration for ITB Asia in Singapore.

Registration for the international travel trade show, which is to be held from October 17-18 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, is open till August 16. Interested parties have been requested to submit a co-exhibitor registration form to MATATO.

Participation costs USD 1,500 for resorts, hotels, airlines, guesthouses and travel agents. Every registered party will receive a two by two metre counter space along with one exhibitor badge, but will have to pay USD 200 for every additional participant.

According to MATATO, the Maldives stand will also have four limited premium tables, each designed as cubicles with partitioned walls, two chairs and a table to hold meeting with buyers. A premium table can be booked for an extra USD 1,000, it said.

Now in its 11th year in Singapore, ITB Asia is an annually held three day B2B trade show and convention for the travel industry. It is designed to become the primary event for the Asia Pacific travel industry, much like its parent event – ITB Berlin.

Today, ITB Asia is the premier meeting place for the travel trade industry and a forum for establishing high-quality customer contacts and conducting businesses. This is where international exhibitors of all sectors within the travel-value chain commerce, and Asia Pacific’s leading travel companies and emerging small and medium-sized enterprises meet with top international buyers from the MICE, leisure and corporate travel markets.

Asia, the second largest regional source market, has recorded significant growth over the past two years.

Despite falling numbers from China, South East Asia and South Asia posted strong gains in 2017, with arrivals increasing by 21.4 percent and 10.5 percent respectively. That growth is set to continue this year as well, as arrivals from South East Asia increased by 33.9 percent and South Asia by 6.3 percent in the first six months of the year.
