Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has announced plans to promote the Maldives at the upcoming International Travel Expo (ITE) Hong Kong 2018.
In a statement, MATATO said a destination pavilion will be hosted at the expo, which takes place from June 14-17 in Hong Kong. Villa Hotels and Resorts, Exciting Travel Holidays, Vista Company and Travel Services, and Velana Beach will exhibit their offerings, it added.
ITE Hong Kong is the city’s only travel fair, and also covers neighbouring cities in southern China.
China remains the largest source market to the Maldives, despite falling numbers. In 2017, arrivals from China stood at 306,530, which was a 5.5 percent decrease from the 324,326 in 2016.
