Maldives has been showcased at the Global Gathering Festival 2018 in South Korea.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) together with the Maldives Honorary Consulate in Korea represented the destination at the festival held in Busan on Sunday.
During the festival, which attracted over 30,000 visitors, promotional materials were distributed from the Maldives booth.
Global Gathering Festival is an international event, hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation (BFIC) and Busan Immigration Office, where visitors can meet locals and expatriates, and experience world cultures, including food, traditional clothing, performances and more.
South Korea is amongst the top 10 markets for tourist arrivals to the Maldives, with the island nation being one of the most famous honeymoon destinations for Koreans. In 2017, a total of 34,808 Koreans visited the Maldives, which is a growth of 17.7 percent compared to the previous year.
