LUX* South Ari Atoll is to host a series of expert-led photography workshops with celebrated photographer Christian del Rosario.

Aimed at beginners and those who like to capture both life’s big and small moments on their smartphones or DSLRs, guests will learn the practical skills and techniques on how to make their photos vibrant and social media ready.

During two-hour workshops on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at LUX* South Ari Atoll’s Wanderlust Library, Christian will teach how to create Instagramable shots, best lighting practices, using editing apps, DSLR basics, and drone photography. Guests will be able to document the unique and vibrant scenery of the Maldives and transform standard smartphone pics into works of art.

“By the end of the workshop series, participants will have a variety of stunning images for their personal library and the knowledge of photography basics,” the resort said, in an announcement.

Christian’s passion for photography was developed as an avocation from from his corporate job in Los Angeles. In 2008, his weekend-defined hobby turned into a full-time career when he realised that one’s work should be their passion.

His world recognised clients now include the likes of the UN World Tourism Organisation, Seychelles Tourism Board, McDonald’s, Holland America, and The John Maxwell Team, amongst many others. His work has been published in Glamour Magazine, Hawaii Magazine, Ironman Magazine, Los Angeles Times, to name a few.

Christian loves the opportunity to promote travel and tourism and believes that personal growth can be achieved by experiencing various cultures. Aside from photography, Christian also has a passion for the love and protection of animals.

Cutting-edge designer villas and world-class dining can be found only a 30-minute seaplane flight away from the main Velana International Airport, making LUX* South Ari Atoll one of the most exciting resorts in the Maldives.

With 187 private villas dotted at the water’s edge along four kilometres of powder fine beach or perched on stilts above a crystal clear lagoon, these spacious pavilions and villas bring an entirely original vibe of coastal, beach house chic to the Maldives.
