Maldives has been recognised as one of the best diving destinations in the world.
At the DIVE Magazine’s 2017 Travel Awards, the Maldives secured the fifth spot in the Destination category with over 500 out of a total of 9,399 votes cast.
In addition to the destination award, OBLU by Atmosphere at Helengeli was recognised as one of the best dive resorts in the world. Several liveaboards operating in the Maldives also made it to the list of top 10 liveaboards in the world.

The annual DIVE Travel Awards recognise the top 10 in three categories: destinations, dive centres or resorts, and liveaboards.
This year, 13,845 votes were cast since polling started in May when the lists of hundreds of nominated destinations, resorts and liveaboards were narrowed down to the top 25 or so in each category. The winners were announced at World Travel Market (WTM) London, which was held from November 6-8.
