Hurawalhi Maldives has unveiled yet another exciting dining experience, the Dream Island Veli Dinner.

The Dream Island Veli Dinner is a group dining event at the beach, with the sand arrangement sitting about 10 guests, making it suitable for both solo travellers, couples, as well as larger parties of guests.

Tapping into the ubiquitous soft sand, fiery sunsets and the flavourful staples of Maldivian cuisine, the divine veli dinner (veli stands for sand in local Dhivehi language) allows you to fully succumb to the marvels of the Maldives while being seated at a luxuriously decorated table dug into the powdery sand.

The pleasant feeling of scrunching sand with your toes is complemented with your taste buds receiving their fair share of excitement: some of the delectable dishes on Executive Chef Warren Moore’s menu include sesame-seared Maldivian ahi tuna with chiffonade cucumber salad, sesame oil, ginger dressing, orange segments, avocado pearls and crispy seaweed, and banana tempura, coconut shaving nougat and Gru Kiru boakiba in a shell of coconut.

The tone of the evening is further set by the lapping of the waves against Dream Island and Maldivian breeze gently flickering the torches at this magic, one-of-a-kind celebration of fine dining, Hurawalhi style.

Officially inaugurated in January, the five-star Hurawalhi resort is accessible by a 40-minute scenic seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport, and offers 90 villas, including 60 Ocean Villas and 30 Beach Villas, for grown-ups who are seeking luxury and innovation. The villas are stylishly and beautifully conceived featuring soothing décor, sumptuous linens on king size beds, bleached wooden floors, and private terraces with panoramic views.
