At a special ceremony held at Kohdhipparu Finolhu on Saturday, Gulf Craft Maldives and Suzuki marine engines by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) were announced as main sponsors, while Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives and Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) were named co-sponsors.

State-owned tourism promotion company Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), local telecom giant Dhiraagu, local printer M7 and Event Maldives have earlier signed up as premium partners. Ten additional exclusive partners, including luxury cruiser Ritrella (Boating Partner), Pixel Solutions (Visual Partner), Efficacy Legal (Legal Counsel), Floating Asia (Magazine Partner), CTL Strategies (Tax Advisor), Symphony (Catering Partner), Rauch (Beverage Partner), ELYIZ (Photography Partner), ASAP (Security Partner) and Mihaaru (Media Partner), have also been announced at the official launching of the event in May.

Held annually since 2013, Maldives Marine Expo is the official exhibition of LAM, and serves as a platform for local boating industry professionals to meet and connect with their peers from around the world. It provides boat owners as well as suppliers to explore new business opportunities and partnerships, and collaborate with organisations that represent the boating industries of other countries.

Exhibitors include a wide range of businesses, including trade representatives, marine equipment suppliers and service providers. It also extends to resort developers and real estate agents as well as companies that provide telecommunication services, technology solutions, banking, financing and insurance services.

Over 32 exhibitors, including suppliers from China, Egypt, India, Russia, Sri Lanka, UAE and the US attended last year’s expo, which was held in the satellite town of Hulhumale.

Founded in 2007, LAM represents liveaboards operating in the Maldives and helps them expand their businesses through lobbying and promotional efforts.
