Tara Lipinski, figure skating world champion and Olympic gold medalist, and husband Todd Kapostasy are spending their honeymoon in the Maldives.
Lipinski wed Fox Sports producer Todd Kapostasy on Saturday at the historic Middleton Place plantation in Charleston, South Carolina.
Following their lavish wedding, the couple arrived in the Maldives and travelled to One&Only Reethi Rah for their honeymoon. They have been documenting it via social media.
The tropical getaway has been a surreal experience for the newly married couple. “I can’t stop staring at everything here. It doesn’t even seem real! Just blue water everywhere,” Lipinski captioned subsequent seaside snaps on Instagram.
Lipinski’s groom is just as enamoured. “Fairly confident that the Maldives imports large quantities of bright teal dye, because there’s no way this is natural,” he wrote. “Another dream day with @taralipinski.”
A former competitor in ladies’ singles, Lipinski is the 1998 Olympic champion, the 1997 World champion, a two-time Champions Series Final champion (1997–1998), and the 1997 US national champion. She is the youngest person — by 32 days — ever to win a World Figure Skating title, doing so at the age of 14 years, nine months and 10 days, and the youngest Olympic gold medalist in the individual ladies’ singles event, having won in Nagano, Japan on February 20, 1998 at the age of 15 years, eight months and 10 days.
She is now an actress and a sports commentator.
