For what could be a world’s first, Kandolhu Maldives has introduced GoPro action cameras for guest use in a bid to further enhance guest experience.
In an announcement, the resort said each guest villa has been equipped with a GoPro HERO5 model camera fitted with an additional waterproof housing. Guests can use the cameras during the course of their stay to capture their memorable moments underwater and above land, it added.
“4K capture resolution of the house reef’s countless turtles, sharks and schools of fish will honour guests with unequivocal bragging rights on social media. Other features include ‘Time Lapse’ for snapping the melting sun, ‘Burst’ to multiple second shots for that smiling anemone fish, and a plethora of other exposure settings, among many new features to GoPro,” the announcement read.
According to Kandolhu, the initial feedback and praise for its latest initiative has been great.
To build on the fantastic response, the resort is planning to organise in-depth workshops to demonstrate the camera’s vast capabilities, and to provide an array of wearable and lens accessories for rental as well as a data storage and sharing service through various platforms and devices.
“… [the] hope is to engage guests by encouraging to share content via social media and on the resort’s website, in order to show the world the paradise that is Kandolhu Maldives,” the announcement read.
Ringed by an intricate yet stunning coral garden teeming with colourful reef fish, Kandolhu Maldives is a patch of paradise hidden in the North Ari Atoll and accessible by a 25-minute scenic seaplane flight. The resort offers just 30 villas in five different styles — Jacuzzi Beach Villas, Pool Villas, Duplex Pool Villas, Ocean Villas and Ocean Pool Villas — that feature local architecture with modern interiors.
Kandolhu Maldives has four à la carte restaurants and a bar as well as beach dining experiences and in-villa dining options. The intimate island resort also features a spa, and offers a range of recreational activities, including diving, snorkelling, water sports and excursions.
