State tourism promotion company Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has endorsed the second edition of Vacations Expo, the country’s first travel show.
Announcing the endorsement, MMPRC’s acting chief Haris Mohamed said the Vacations Expo would be a great platform to showcase the best deals offered by tourism industry partners ahead of the Eid and Independence Day holidays. A large number of locals and expatriates, and trade professionals and business owners associated with the travel industry are expected to attend the event, he added.
“Hence, any assistance and support provided to making Vacations Expo 2017 will be highly appreciated,” a letter signed by Haris read.
Several big names, including major travel industry stakeholders, airlines, tour operators, guesthouses and regional destinations, have already confirmed their participation at the expo, which would be held from July 6-8 in capital Male. The confirmed parties include Islamic pilgrimage agents like Musafireen and Hajj Corporation, local tour operators Kraken and Voyages Maldives, guesthouse Vinorva and Indian travel agent Holiday Kerala.
The year’s edition will also include a Visit and Win segment that offers visitors the opportunity to win exciting travel packages, including Umrah trips.
The annual travel trade show brings together leading travel companies, hoteliers, airlines, tour operators, travel agents, online travel companies, liveaboards, cruises, dive operators and other travel marketers under one roof. Exhibitors can display various attractive travel packages and services.
The expo is organised by leading event management company Highrise, which has successfully delivered several local and international events, including Maldives Travel Awards, Maldives Film Awards, Maldives Living Expo and Sounds of Maldives.
