Bollywood power couple Ajay Devgan and Kajol arrived in Maldives on Monday for a family vacation.

Sources say that the couple arrived in the Maldives Monday morning, and was accompanied by their children Nysa and Yug, and Ajay’s sisters Neelam and Kavita. They will reportedly stay in the Maldives for 10-12 days.

However, other details are yet unclear.

Indian media reports earlier said that the family vacation was a much needed break for Ajay, who has been shooting non-stop for two movies; Baadshaho and Golmaal Again. This short break comes as director Rohit Shetty took a break from Golmaal Again and left for Spain for Khatron Ke Khiladi, according to the reports.

“After returning from his New Year holiday in London, Ajay has been shooting back-to-back for Milan Luthria’s Baadshaho, followed by Rohit’s Golmaal Again,” a leading Indian tabloid earlier quoted a source close to the couple as saying.

“Rohit leaving for Spain to shoot for the upcoming season of Khatron Ke Khiladi has facilitated some time-off for Ajay which he wants to spend with his family. It couldn’t have come at a better time as Kajol too wrapped up work on Dhanush’s VIP 2 recently.”

Maldives has become a sought after destination by Bollywood stars.

Famous Bollywood stars who have visited the Maldives include Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra. Bollywood couples such as Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have also spent their vacation in the Maldives, while Bollywood couple Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora Khan has declared the Maldives as their favourite holiday destination.

Additionally, India has become a major emerging source market for the Maldives tourism industry.

Official figures show that 66,955 tourists arrived in Maldives from its closest neighbour last year, a 27.9 percent increase from the 52,368 Indian travellers that chose the Maldives in 2015.

That growth is expected to continue this year as well, as the number of Indian tourists that visited the Maldives recorded a 21.1 percent increase in the first three months to reach 17,156 compared to 14,171 in the same period last year.
