Indian hospitality software provider eZee Technosys has agreed to provide its award winning software packages to guesthouses in Maldives at subsidised rates.

Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM) signed an agreement with eZee Technosys on Wednesday. GAM’s president Ahmed Akram and eZee Technosys co-founder Vipul Kapoor signed the agreement at a ceremony held in capital Male.

Akram told journalists that eZee Technosys would provide its software solutions to Maldivian guesthouses at lower rates than market prices.

“This initiative will benefit the industry as a whole by easing the operations of guesthouses,” he said.

eZee Technosys, a startup founded in 2005, offers a suite of products to its clients, including eZee FrontDesk, a desktop-based hotel management solution; eZee Absolute, a cloud-based property management system (PMS) that simplifies hotel operations and helps boost revenue; eZee Reservation, an online hotel-booking engine that allows the hotel to receive online bookings from the hotel’s website and other sources; eZee Centrix, an online hotel channel manager to manage rates and inventory distribution on various booking portals, website and Facebook page. Additionally, eZee BurrP! is a desktop-based restaurant management software and eZee iMenu integrates with the restaurant’s PoS and digitises the traditional menu.

The startup has evolved into a regional leader in hospitality software, especially those targeted towards budget properties. Several guesthouses in the Maldives, including the award-winning Ocean Grand, Fern Boutique Inn, Marble Hotel, H78, Airport Beach Hotel and Arena Beach Hotel in the satellite town of Hulhumale use the company’s software.

Maldives, known world over for its upmarket tourism industry, has resorts in the hundreds spread across the archipelago. The industry has in recent years expanded to introduce more affordable segments, including guesthouses and liveaboards. Some 300 guesthouses have started operations over the past five years as the number of travellers that choose to stay in guesthouses rise.
